The newest addition to the Ossington strip between Queen and Dundas, this place is the kind of place you'd see in New York and think "Damn, how come Toronto doesn't have any cool bars like this?" They've done a really nice job with the joint, it should do well despite all the local competition. I don't even have the address, but it's on the East side, across from Baby Huey's.

"Hold Tight" at this Ossington Hot Spot

This two-faced hangout, while relatively new on the strip, is proving to be a hot spot for local boogie butts. The front room is clean and crisp with large windows providing a great view of the spillover, ensuring your part in the madness, whether you’re in or out. This is where the dancing happens and there’s no better night to sample than the monthly Hold Tight party. The back room, on the other hand, has more of a NYC hole in the wall vibe with couches, lower ceiling, more subdued decibel levels and its own dedicated bar. A great place to relax until the DJ in the front drops the next banger.

Halloween experience

Happening on Oct. 27, the abysmal axis of Toronto’s seedy underground of the degenerate artists and drunkards community. Join them for “Intervention Monday #13: The Cutter,” a night full of terror tunes and pumpkin cutting! The strange, late night event will feature Mexican nunsploitation horror films and DJs from Rue Morgue. Plus: a prize for the best pumpkin cut!
