Decent place for coffee + luches, rude staff
Rated this place:
The Roastery Coffee House is hidden away from plain view to passerby's along Richmond and Spadina's corner. It's found in a cozy corner of 401 Richmond, one of Toronto's historical manufacturing buildings turned haven for artists.
It's a super charming coffee shop in a the classical "coffee shop" sense - high ceilings, wooden panel floors with brick walls, casual business meetings and studying students. They serve fresh juice, juice blends, smoothies, tea, iced drinks and their coffee is certified fairtrade organic. The coffee is decent but unfortunately, on most visits, the staff and service have been terrible.
Nonetheless, it seems to be a popular place for lunches and coffee breaks. They've got some great lunch options like bagels, pasta salads, toasted sandwiches and pastries - most sourced from outside, at least, as much as I could find out from the staff.
