Good Beer, and the Best Food

Rated this place:

Not only does the Roxton have some great beers on tap (Wellington being my personal favorite), but the food is beyond delicious. The menu changes daily, which is always a sign of good things, and the prices are really reasonable. I had the rosemary lamb stew with mashed potatoes, and savored every mouthful. For a seemingly dark, nondescript bar, the Roxton knows how to bring it.

Mid-week drink and a bite

Rated this place:

When you want go for a casual mid-week dinner and drink with friends, The Roxton is an ideal choice. It has a great, relaxed vibe and on a cold winter night it almost seems to beckon you in with its soft, warm lighting and yummy comfort food. In the summer it has the same basic atmosphere, but also the welcome addition of a patio. The portions are large and reasonably priced. The burgers are especially good. It’s the ideal neighbourhood spot. And if you don’t live in the neighbourhood? It’s still worth the trip! Located on Harbord, not far from Ossington.

Lounge

Rated this place:

The Roxton

They have 50 on tap, and the ambiance is cozy. This is a picture of Al Green. Not the Roxton. But they played his stuff one night while I ate their ribs, and the combination was delightful, so it's picture association.

Lounge

Rated this place:

Looks are deceiving ... from the outside it looks like a real dive and to my pleasant surprise... the inside is just the opposite. A real cool vibe, stylishly retro design, and a real good hip neighborhood crowd. The booths are awesome but buyer beware... a little diffficult to get served from but worth the wait.
