Once part of the now sadly defunct (except for the Fox) Festival Cinemas chain, the Royal has recently been restored to its former art-deco glory. Recently screened international hits such as Werner Herzog's Rescue Dawn and Ingmar Bergman's Saraband run smoothly alongside cult favourites like Demons 2 and Grindhouse. Plus, everything runs for a few days, so you actually have a chance to fit it into your busy schedule. Bonus feature: reclining bucket seats!
