Moooooo... Baaaaaa...

Rated this place:

If I was banished to a desert island and could only have one food for the rest of my life (and a "balanced" diet was of no concern) hands down it would be cheese. I grew up with orange blobs of things like colby, velveeta, and even cheese whiz (I whispered that by the way) that were called cheese. How far I have come! Now I want cheeses that are so close to the cow or goat you can almost smell the barn and the stinkier the better. Make it Canadian and from unpasteurized milk and now you are really talking my language. The Thin Blue Line satisfies all of those and does it well. The cheese selection is on the smaller side but what they have is excellent. Now that they have expanded you will also find a lovely selection of breads, olives, and pates. My new favourite, hand churned artisanal butter from pasture raised cows.

Oh for the love of cheese

Rated this place:

These peeps are serious cheese lovers! Their love of cheese is obvious. They have a small selection of cheese that they have carefully chosen primarily from Ontario and Quebec. They have amazing condiments and jellies that I can't wait to try and they also carry really interesting cheese tools like graters, fondue sets and even cookbooks. An amazing specialty cheese shop that I look forward to frequenting.

Cheese & Cheese Paraphernalia

Rated this place:

This is a small shop with carefully curated offerings. As others have mentioned, there is a focus on Quebec and Ontario cheeses. It is also a great place to go for breads, olives, D.O.P. tomatoes, sundried tomatoes. I personally like that their offerings are limited relative to other cheese shops: what they have is always good and (where appropriate) fresh, and the people behind the counter can speak knowledgeably about what's there. This is just what a specialty shop should be.

Best Cheese Shop

Rated this place:

Thin Blue Line Cheese

This cute little shop on Roncesvalles has the most amazing cheeses - and, best of all, informative staff who are always willing to explain, make suggestions, and offer samples (even if those waiting behind you aren't so patient).

They also carry other canned goods and gourmet items at fair prices. I found the same brand of Tomatoes that I used to go to Little Italy to buy at a cheaper selling price.

If they have it in stock, be sure to buy the smoked blue cheese.

Sure, they have cheese, but did you know they also have bread? It's good!
