Summertime activity

Rated this place:

Simple fun is so rare these days. I mean, where else in Toronto can you feed a real swan and ride a fake one minutes later. There’s a great amusement park (Centreville), great bike trails, endless spots for picnics and the most unbelievable view of Downtown Toronto.

Sketching toronto areas

Rated this place:

These are wonderful places to set up one's easel and sketch unique and beautiful areas. As a printmaker, I then take these sketches back to my studio where I use them to build a plate for my relief prints. This is a resource that is so accessible and lovely one can hardly believe it is right in the middle of our city!

Fun summer day tripping

Rated this place:

Just a short ferry ride away, Toronto Islands are the perfect place to laze away a warm summer afternoon. What is there to do there? Tons! You can rent bikes, have a picnic, wander around, wade in the water, play frisbee golf, see the farm animals, go for drinks at The Rectory Café, do all of the above … or nothing at all! Ferries depart frequently from the ferry terminal at the foot of Bay. Note that there are three different possible stops for the ferry (Hanlan’s Point, Ward Island and Centre Island) so make sure you know where you want to go and you get on the correct boat.

Daytrip

Rated this place:

Toronto Islands

A day spent walking or biking around the islands is a great mini-vacation! Enjoy the spectacular view of the cityscape during the short ferry ride there. Then, bring a homemade picnic to enjoy on the lush grass as ridiculously carefree people around you play ultimate frisbee. Alternately, enjoy a carefree game of ultimate frisbee while others enjoy a picnic on the lush grass! And don't forget to visit the donkey and geese at Centre Island.
