I head to this store when I'm looking for inexpensive things to brighten up a space in my home or when I'm in need of something as basic as a tooth brush holder. Almost everything you'll find at Umbra, whether it's for functional or decor purposes, has a unique and modern design element to it. Most of my vases and picture frames actually come from Umbra, because they are cheap yet stylish, not to mention good quality. I have also bought bamboo bathroom accessories from Umbra that have lasted for years. Check back every now and then because the store always introduces new colours and designs to reflect trends. I also own and love the canvas crunch laundry can -- it folds up and saves space when you’re not using it.

Small kitchen items in a big space

Umbra carries a number of items that are ideal if you have a small kitchen and need to maximize space. Examples include their sink caddies and their over-the-sink shelf. As a bonus, many of their products are eco-friendly, often designed from biodegradable plastic or bamboo. While you can find Umbra products at lots of stores, it’s always great to go direct to their concept store if you can. At 7000 square feet, it has the most extensive selection of Umbra products. Plus you get to see Umbra designers at work. Who knows, you may even get a peek at what could turn out to be the next Umbra “it” item.

It shouldn't be surprising that among all the heavy hitter designers displaying their wares in this shop that they also sell limited edition art from them too. Pick up interesting pieces and check out the rotating monthly displays at the umbra concept store. It may only set you back 50 bucks and you'll have a bonafied piece of art from a known artist.
