Say hi to Yasi, Benny and all their cousins.
Rated this place:
One of the best brunch places in the entire city, hands down. Their "Benny's cousin” is my fave, not just because the eggs are poached well and the hollandaise is perfectly flavoured, but also because they come with these incredible home fries. I’m not sure what exactly the ingredient or cooking method is that gives them their complex, nutty flavour (cumin, I think), but they’re much better than the average side of potatoes. The place is super veg-friendly, if you’re into that sort of thing, but if not then I highly recommend a side of Turkish sausage with whatever you’re having. I’m a big fan of grilled cheese, and Yasi’s has an array of options, but I think the best is the fairly traditional cheddar, avocado + red onion sandwich. Throw some bacon in there too and it’s basically the perfect sandwich.I usually only go to Yasi’s in the summer, because they’ve got a little patio, which makes weekend crowds a bit more manageable. The idea of squeezing into the place on a busy wintry Saturday, with my bulky coat and assorted gear just sounds like a hassle, but that’s probably just me. It’s not *that small* in there.
