Entertaining take out food

Rated this place:

I drove past this place for years, but after moving downtown I gave it a try and I would go there more often but he is only open during the day and I can't always make it down there for lunch. As MarkMoyes says above Elias is the real attraction, and I really hope people who have not tried this place out will give it a try, and those who do love it, will keep going because it would be a real shame if this place went out of business because of the recession. Also, your first piece of apple cake is free - and Elias knows if it is your first time there or not - you don't even have to tell him! With so many healthy AND tasty menu options and great prices, why go to Timmy's or Mickey Dee's? A great place for a quick, healthy, tasty lunch at a great price! If I worked in the area of Jarvis and Richmond I would be there for lunch every day!

Inexplicable name, delicious falafel

Rated this place:

Mystic Muffin

Elias Makhoul’s falafels are good. Really good. And -- at less than $4 with eggplant (a must) -- they’re cheap. (The Better Life Combo, for around $6, costs only a couple dollars more but will stuff you with healthy deliciousness.) Still, he’s the real attraction here. He's single-handedly tackling the recession with a promise that if his regulars lose their jobs, they eat free. He never stops talking, writing crazy things on his chalkboard, running for mayor and gently flirting with all his female customers.
