Lots of baby stuff, poor service

My husband and I bought a kiddy-board from them. It broke down about 3 weeks later - after very light use. It turned out to be defective (according to the manufacturer) and they told us to go back to the store for an exchange. When we went back to Macklems for a new board (we had the receipt and box, too) they refused to give us a new board until the owner looked at it. Days after promising to get back to us, I called and was told nothing had been done and it hadn't even been looked at - "you are not our only customer, you know" said the manager. I had to call the manufacturer and have them harass the store before they agreed to get us a new Kiddy board. My advice is - there are lots of great kids shops out there with less hassles. A real disappointment given that they claim to be a "family-owned business." I say for excellent baby stuff and service try "Moms to Be and More."

If you want to purchase the current Rolls Royce of strollers for your little one, or want to buy higher end brands, Macklems will have what you are looking for. Located in the West end, its worth the trip to see their selection of strollers, cribs, and other baby accessories such as baby slings, bath items and toys. They have a very knowledgeable staff, especially when it comes to the strollers. There prices are higher than others, but that's mainly because they carry the higher end brands. Check them out for their selection of chic diaper bags and nursery decor.
