I told my friend Adanna that if I was ever born a girl in my next life, this thrift-vintage store would likely be my weekend pit stop. Located at the foot of Kensington Ave. north of Dundas St. W., Ego – which has been in the market area for many years and have probably seen its neighbouring stores closed down and revived a few times – is ran by a heavy accented Eastern European lady, who has a knack for eccentric pieces. Its must-go appeal is the accessories glass case that has a mini-selection of brooches that are eclectic and sold cheaply for $5-$20.
