This old-school-retro-diner - made famous by Mordecai Richler's The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz - slings some of the best gut-busting all-day breakfasts, lunch plates and milkshakes on the Plateau. Go during prime time (on a weekend morning, for example) and you might have to wait a while for a table, but be patient. You won't be disappointed!

This is THE institution for the St. viateur bagel with a THICK layer of creamcheese, fresh ripe tomato, red onion and lox. You can't beat it. It is over-priced and over-rated for everything else.

Great montreal bagel - best with cream cheese, lox and some red onions! Try either the Beauty's lox platter or the Beauty's special - both great choices!

Nova Platter is the best thing on Beauty's menu (others may argue the mishmash omelette but I respectfully disagree). The platter feeds four: a large plate of lox, 4 bagels, and the cream cheese and vegetable acutrements necessary to complete the delicacy. Beauty's lox is almost up there with New York 's!

They are Montreal bagels, which are amazing in their own right, but something about the Beauty's bagel toasted with your brunch is so good. Perhaps it's because Beauty's is the personification of THE Montreal brunch.
