An excellent alternative to Montreal’s finest
Rated this place:
While the arguments of others fuel the Great Bagel Debate – Fairmount vs. St. Viateur – I’ll settle for my local neighbourhood R.E.A.L Bagels. R.E.A.L. serves up bagels that have the right mix of thin and crispy exterior, giving way to a soft and doughy interior, and also offers avariety of other items, such as TCBY ice cream, chocolates, treats, and soups, salads, and Panini’s at the in-store café, with noticeably fewer tourists. R.E.A.L Bagel offers catering services, and about 14 different varieties of bagels. A dozen bagels will set you back about $11, but God help you if you forget to buy fluffy Liberté cream cheese, because R.E.A.L. will sell it to you for a whopping $4.99 + tax.
