there is no such thing as "a little garlic"
Rated this place:
Stopping off at Boustan for a garlic nightmare at 3:00am after rip-roaring night of binge drinking is basically a rite of passage for University students in Montreal. Whether its falafel, shish taouk, or shawarma that tickles your fancy, Boustan is a special place where the line-ups (and the lingering essence of garlic) spill out onto the street at some ungodly hour any night of the week.
Photos of regulars and famous guests (including former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau) adorn the walls, and if your stomach can take it, it’s a fun place to try. If you can’t make it stumbling over to Crescent, not to worry - Boustan delivers.
Be warned, however, unless you have an incredibly strong constitution, Boustan can be both the best and worst thing to happen to you. A greasy, garlicky, creamy pita will either save you from a wicked next-day hangover, or have you calling up the puke gods on the big white phone in no time.
