Toronto Soul
Rated this place:
Just east of Church on Richmond St, and inspired by the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s, is a quaint, cozy, off the-beaten-track little soulfood joint called Harlem. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself there for both lunch and dinner. It's really casual and intimate (the dining room accommodates about 40 persons), there's soem pretty cool art to peep, the moderately priced grub is decent - I love their fried chicken, tender, moist, not greasy - and the staff are attentive and friendly. Upstairs there's a sweet, 100-person-capacity event space (which hosts regular weekend affairs of all kinds).
