Hank's another J.K. success story

Rated this place:

"...In the daylight, the room is bright, blue and spacious. The round tables are far apart and fat enough to hold all our goods (too many restaurants have teeny tables, barely large enough to accommodate the food). The café is excellent, with a friendly and informative staff. We're served a spectacular caffé latte ($2.75) on each visit.

Super-simple food, mostly soups and sandwiches, clock in under $10.

A whopper of a turkey sandwich ($7.50) comes with homemade potato chips (with a few purple ones that sort of lose their lustre by the time they're deep-fried) and gherkins. There appears to be twice as much meat between the red fife bread as there was at Gilead..." See Full Post.

I want to go to there

Rated this place:

As a devotee of Manic Coffee, I was disappointed to hear that Jamie Kennedy had scooped up their award winning barista, Sam. That was before I got a new job steps away from his new cafe, Hank's.

Hank's is a fantastic little cafe dedicated to serving simple - but delicious - breakfast and lunch items. Nothing on the menu is over $7.50, but still manages to follow Kennedy's principles of using locally sourced, fresh, quality ingredients.

There isn't a wide variety of meals, but every item is perfected. And, of course, they have amazing intelligentsia coffee.

A hankering for Hank’s

Rated this place:

Hank’s Café

Attached to Jamie Kennedy’s Wine Bar, Hank’s is an adorable café with great food. They open early for breakfast with menu items that include toast, granola and a selection of pastries. (Best bet: the sweet stuffed croissant, filled with chocolate and nuts--yummm!) The lunch menu includes sandwiches (from egg salad to meatloaf), soups, stews and delicious cookies and squares. They also offer great take-away items, such as loaves of St. John’s bakery breads and savory dishes such as Mac & Cheese. Looking for something a bit different? Pick up some of their mushroom butter. It’s great mixed into simple pastas or scrambled eggs. Hank’s is licensed.
