A whimsical spot

Rated this place:

Mabel’s Bakery and Specialty Foods

Mabels lives up to its fairytale name. The store is filled with delicious treats all made with "organics and love". The cupcakes looked especially good. A great place to grab a treat for a friend.

lentil loaf

Rated this place:

First and best Lentil Loaf I've tried; this stuff flies off the shelf at Mabel's. Try it with smoked Cheddar and a Thuet sourdough boule for dinner! :)

It’s always a good time for pie

Mabel’s Bakery and Specialty Foods

The last time I visited Mabel’s, the blackboard sign out front read “Pie for breakfast? Why not?” and I knew for sure it was love. Not only is this the perfect place to come for delicious sweets (the cinnamon cookies are especially excellent) but they also have a good selection of savory prepared items, such as lasagna. Add to this that they offer sandwiches, carry breads by Marc Thuet, have a good selection of cheese and sell some nice hostess gifts, like salsas by From These Roots. All this in a spot that is cute as a button! Painted brick walls, a pretty glass window in the front, and rustic wood tables. Lovely!
