Every June, various theatres throughout Toronto host screenings from the Worldwide Short Film Festival. A fun departure from your typical Hollywood blockbuster, a lot of these movies are more creative and thought-provoking than your usual full-length feature film. Each show in the festival includes a variety of shorts organized around a theme. If you’re not sure what you’re interested in, a good bet is always the show with the award winners from around the world and/or the show with all the award winners from this festival. Makes for a fun, cheap date or night out with friends. Info on shows and locations is available through www.worldwideshortfilmfest.com. The box office is located in Manulife Centre - 55 Bloor Street West.
