Best bibimbap outside of Jeonju
Rated this place:
An authentic taste of Korea hidden below street level in Montreal’s Chinatown. Serving all the traditional Korean favourites, authenticity was proven when the Korean men’s under-20 squash team came in for a post-game hot pot. Chez Bong is hard to find, but the simple décor and accommodating staff give the small restaurant a homey feel.
Featuring tasty soups and stews, as well as delicious homemade pork dumplings and refreshing kimchi. You can’t go wrong with the bibimbap (a small, sizzling, hot stone cauldron filled with rice, vegetables, beef or shrimp, and topped off with an egg), which was satisfying and delicious, and even better when leftovers were reheated the following day.
