IAM YOGA - Bloor and Yonge

Rated this place:

Iam Yoga

IAM Yoga is by far a favourite. As someone who has been all around the city, and has practiced for many years, I have now found a place to truly call my own. Every teacher, and every class is consistent. The people are friendly, and welcoming. I feel like a part of a community when I walk in. Linda is so sweet, and always available to answer my questions. The space itself is beautiful and clean. There is always a shower, and lots of room to change. I think I loved it from the very start. If you love your yoga like I do, and enjoy a good challenge this is a place for you. I copy pasted info from their very website if you like to read on a little more- enjoy my friends!!! iam yoga is yoga studio specializing in varied yoga flow and pilates classes practiced in a heated room. At iam yoga we recognize that a hot yoga practice is an excellent way to detoxify, strengthen and tone the body as well as all of its systems, so that the body itself becomes the best possible vessel from where we can begin to practice and cultivate stillness, non-reactivity and tranquility of the mind. We strive to create yoga classes suitable for all levels that combine fun, challenging, and dynamic cardiovascular activities to improve the health of the body and to heighten the focus and awareness of the mind. We practice yoga in a room heated to a temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celsius. The purpose of practicing yoga in a heated room is to maintain a consistent level of warmth within the musculature and connective tissue so that the student can experience a safer and a deeper stretch. Hot yoga promotes a deep sweat that is highly effective for detoxifying the body because the skin is the body’s largest organ of elimination.
