The Cock & Tail is the place to shake off the turntables and martinis that have attached themselves to you while hopping along the other boîtes on the West Queen West strip. With its impressive range of hard to find bottled and draught beers, think local crafts and never seen before Europeans, and the weekly presence of neighbourhood bands, and their live rocky-bluegrass-gospel stylings, the C&T is the laid-back escape from the humdrummery of the daily grind.Cozy and intimate, with candles and wood galore, the crowd is often musical, artistic and on the indie side of hip. Our only warning? Beware the high bar ladies—there’s a certain dexterity required for descending, post micro-brewery indulgence, from such heights, and you don’t want that cute AA mini around your waist, à la belt, when you hit the ground.
