A Free Zoo featuring Its Own Train

When I first moved to this area, I was astounded to discover that Peterborough has its own zoo -- and that you don't have to pay to get in. (Local taxpayers pick up the tab on their utility services bill: unusual and cool.) The playground is state-of-the-art, featuring a spray-pad that keeps the parking lot full to overflowing on the hottest days of summer. You can even take a train ride across the river with your kids.
