Upscale without the pretense
Rated this place:
Dining at Oliver & Bonacini regularly, one could get very spoiled, very quickly. The service - attentive without being intrusive - alone is worth repeat visits. And the cuisine? Gourmet without pretense. My fave order has to be the Portobello Burger: thick, grilled portobello cap topped with roasted red pepper and warm goat cheese and served with a watermelon and feta cheese salad ($13.95). For dessert, try a bit of everything with the Chef's Platter: sour cream cheesecake, butter tart, carrot cake and chocolate marquise ($14.95). The latter - which I could best describe as the lovechild of choco mousse and fudge - is not to be missed if you're a serious chocoholic (like yours truly).
