This place is a treat in Kensington Market. It's obviously well-enjoyed. In the summer, it's a great spot with a mini patio. Good to stay in or take out are the delicious empanadas. Everything is made with quality and fresh ingredients. The beef empanada is delicious with their spicy salsa. The vegetable empanada is also good. Yes, I can't forget the corn pie. The empanadas are dryer than others I've had in other cities but I think these are delicious too, just different.

Irene and Co. somehow find the best tasting avocados and tomatoes to make her lemony green salad. There's tiny bits of broccoli and finely cut onion in perfect balance for only $5!! Something special to look forward to on a dark winters night and a summer staple, and yes they do takeout as with all the menu!

Run by a lovely mother-daughter team, Jumbo Empanadas is right at the top of the list of good, cheap eats in Toronto. Everything is delicious, with the cheese empanada being especially tasty, followed closely by the chicken one. And the avocado salad makes a delicious side to any order. Yummm! Whatever you choose, it’s a great meal for just a few bucks and an ideal stop when you’re rushing from work to an event and want something easy, quick and tasty. The fact that this place almost always has a line-up speaks volumes for the quality and price. Located in the heart of Kensington Market. Licensed.

Sad that the beef one has raisins in it (eww I hate raisins) but the chicken has never failed to impress me/ The boiled egg and olive inside are great additions.

Empanadas are fantastic, but the meal should not be considered complete unless you get the chilean salad, lettuce, avocadoe, cilantroe and broccoli in vinagrette dressing. get there before noon, otherwise the lineup is at least 10 people deep.

The filling is really tender and full of flavour. It's a great no fuss lunch - best enjoyed with a Corona on their patio - and perfect for take out too.
