Lee's Palace

Rated this place:

Equal parts concert space and dance nightclub, Lee’s brings me back to the memories of my youth: With parties like the alternative glam-rock club-gay Vazaleen (now defunct), which brought out the drag queen in me wearing a seven-inch platform shoes, and of course the long-running and ever-popular Dance Cave that gave free admission to students carrying a valid form of student identification. Cheap beer also brought massive flocks of students and turned this venue into more than an Annex frat party.

Concert venue

Rated this place:

It's not too big or too small. The location is also great! I sometimes won't go to a show if it's not at Lee's.

Rock music venue

Rated this place:

I love Lee’s. The view is usually good, especially post-renovation, and it’s a simple, no-frills music venue with lots of stalls in the women’s washroom so there are no lineups. Now that’s reason enough.

Live music venue

Rated this place:

Small venue where you're literally right in front of the band; good sightlines; see many up and coming bands for around $10!

Live music venues

Rated this place:

It's not too big, has great sightlines due to the multi-level layout, and generally has really good bands playing there
