Lula Lounge is a one of the top spots for Latin and World music and dance-til-ya-drop dance-hall vibes - and the live shows are usually stellar. Hangin' at Lula Lounge makes me feel like I'm not in Toronto, like I've stepped into some Havana-meets-New York timewarp and everybody around me is not who they were before they walked in. That's what I love most about the place. It's magical in a way and the people-vibe is fun (with exception to those rare times when that unavoidable meat-market effect is on). That and the setup and look of the place: round banquette-style tables along the raised dining areas that overlook the dancefloor; the warm mood lighting and eclectic decoration. They also offer dance classes and Latin-fusion cuisine (I haven't eaten there).

It's hip. The menu is awesome. The entertainment rocks. For example: this week they had a Tribute to Patsy Cine with 15 or so different artists offering their renditions of her music. Totally enjoyable!

They always have lively music and interesting bands in. The selection is always sure to get the crowd onto their feet and moving and here it doesn't matter if you can dance or not, everyone gets up!
