The Soup Nazi minus the quality

Rated this place:

Shoddy work. Expensive. And terrible customer service. He put a pair of rubber soles on an expensive pair of leather shoes. The soles started to peel away after about 3 weeks of light wear. When I called to ask if he would fix his repair free of charge, he refused blankly. He was unspeakably rude and hung up on me. This is after a 30 second conversation!. He is a miserable human being. No pride in his work obviously.

Rude and can't even finish the job on time!

Rated this place:

I went to Mr. Soles to get a tread put on a pair of shoes. I'd called Moneysworth in the Dufferin Mall at first and they quoted me $35 AND WERE SO POLITE ON THE PHONE. BUT since I'd read that he was tops in NOW 2008, I decided to go there instead. He quoted me $40. Which was totally fine (I expected it to be more) but I wanted the job done ASAP. So I begin saying to him, "Ya but.." and before I can ask how long it will take he rudely interrupts with, "But what? You don't have any money?" I ended up letting him do the tread but the shoes wouldn't be available for 4 days. 4 days later and the shoes were still not ready. He actually couldn't read his own writing on the card he'd given me so I had to describe my shoes then point them out. The job that he did on them is ok. Not horrible but not great by any means. WILL NOT GO BACK TO HIM EVER.

Horrible.

Rated this place:

This gentleman completely ruined a pair of $300 boots I owned. Not only was the craftsmanship horrible, but I had to go back three different times after the one week wait time, each time he "promised" they'd be done in a new time frame. Absolutely a total rip off. Now i'm out $300 for my boots + $60 for his shoddy repair.

Mr. Soles can get your shoes back on the road

Mr Soles Shoe Repair

Quick, efficient and moreover, very skilful. Mr. Soles is one of those true artists from a bygone era - a cobbler who can repair, revive and resole just about any shoe or boot you bring to him. I've extended the life of many a pair by bringing them to him, and the service is always fast and reasonably priced.

I like how conveniently located his little shop is, as well - right by the Metro and the Shoppers Drug Mart near College and Crawford, so that dropping your shoes off for repairs can just be one of the many errands you run on that very corner. Long before I ever went in as a customer, I wondered about the strange, stand-alone hut in the middle of the parking lot. Now I just think of it as the best place to breathe new life into my winter boots.
