Great wines, fun atmosphere, fantastic food

Rated this place:

Crush Wine Bar

Top of the line wine program and excellent value are to be had at Crush Wine Bar - not to mention the $3 dish of pork scratchings (deep fried pork skin + fat) that are so delicious and yet so wrong.

In a city with what seems like an exponentially growing number of wine bars, Crush Wine Bar is one of the greats. Located in the trendy King Street West neighbourhood, Crush caters to an eclectic mix of yuppies and creative types - which makes for interesting bar conversation and a fun, unpretentious atmosphere. Go for lunch, dinner, late-night drinks, a quick swirl and sniff or intimate occasions in their private dining rooms.

Be sure to check out their Wine Flights, various selections of 3 wines offered in 2oz servings for $15-25 per flight - i.e. a French White flight or a Tuscan Red flight. Each wine is carefully chosen to compliment yet contrast the next, offering a fun way for both beginners and pros to experience wine.

Their bar menu offers a traditional selection of Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips or a Charcuterie Board of both homemade and locally-sourced cured meats. The regular menu includes a delicious variety of starts like Calamari and Pork Belly and mains like Duck Confit, Beef Tenderloin Wellington or Seared Wild Bass. Set 3-course lunches go for $20 while dinners are $35 - really great value!

Wine bar

Rated this place:

They have a nice sample list of wines. You can try about a dozen wines in 2, 3, and 5 oz quantities: interesting good value wines through to some serious, and super expensive wines, made affordable based on the small samples portions.
