Picture this. Their milkshakes come in a 1L tub. It's not a cup, it's just a big 1L tub that they cut a little hole in the plastic lid of, and they give you that, and you can get said milkshake with pocket change (silvers and golds, but still... change). Everything is so fresh and huge. The CEO of baskin robbins has dutch nightmares.

20 + years in the treat biz, they serve a crazy number (50?) of icecream flavours, Dutch pancakes and, yes, 1-liter milkshakes. This place is no joke. It's open noon–midnight in summer - and there's nothing like experiencing this place on a hot, sultry summer night for some latenight sweets with yer sweetiepie. Just be prepared for a long lineup. But know this: it's worth the wait.

If Terry Gilliam owned an ice cream parlour, it would look like Dutch Dreams. The surreal interior is cluttered with tchotchkas: clogs hang next to hockey skates, not an inch of wall left unadorned. The Monty-Pythonesque décor carries on outside, with cows floating in midair, anchored to the brick exterior. In business for 20 years, they serve 50 flavours of ice cream and 3-scoop Dutch pancakes. Milkshakes are a full litre in size. No dieters, please. Open noon–midnight in summer.

Maple walnut ice cream

Not enough places sell maple walnut ice cream. The ones that do can learn a lot from Dutch Dreams. Warning: Despite being featured as the 'cheap date ice cream shop' in "Half Baked," it isn't exactly cheap.
