Something for the brunch bunch

Rated this place:

Located on a quiet side street just steps away from Yonge, Fire on the East Side is a lovely spot for brunch with friends. With a menu that extends well beyond your standard brunch fare, they offer delicious options like Crabcakes Benedict with a citrus and spice hollandaise. Genius! And if you’re in a hair-of-the-dog mood, they have mimosas and yummy pitchers of drinks. Perhaps the best part of all is that while you wait for your order, they bring you a basket of delicious banana bread to share. Yummm! On a sunny day, the seats in the front window are the best spot in the restaurant.

Fire on the East Side

Rated this place:

Known for its Sunday Brunch, Fire on the East Side serves tantalizing omelettes, fresh salads and complimentary freshly baked banana bread, enough to whet those waiting appetites and to clear weekend hangovers. Its menu flares for southern-style cooking comprised for diverse palettes. One dish I always order when dining in is the Louisiana crab cakes smoked in a jalapeno aioli. Throughout the week, the restaurant is followed by flocks of first-time dates, family gatherings and power lunches from nearby business executives and professionals.

Fire On The East Side

How can you not love Cajun? Fire on the East Side has great ambiance and soulful food, and the crowds that swarm there for weekend brunch and after-work martinis all agree with me. Last time I went with a mixed crowd of librarians and opera singers, and everyone enjoyed their brunch. We all blushed as our server flattered and flirted her way to a generous tip. The omelettes are particularly yummy. Feel free to have a mimosa with that. Go on, drink: it's Sunday! http://www.fireontheeastside.ca/

Brunch

Rated this place:

Tasty offerings are a little different from the ordinary - eg crab cakes benedict. Plus, they have cheap jalapeno caesars.
