Foodies from North York

From pad thai to pierogies

Rated this place:

All-day breakfast. Pad thai. Avocado and brie sandwiches on fluffy, freshly baked whole wheat bread. No matter what you're in the mood for, you'll find something to eat at the Java House - without putting a dent in your wallet. Hailed as a prime people-watching spot, the Java House has a great patio on Queen St. West to enjoy in the summer months and a cozy, low-lit atmoshpere to warm up during the frigid months. And the best part is, the food is ridiculously cheap.

Great Deals

Rated this place:

I have to be honest, Java House is not all that great. The food is mediocre to fair and the benches are damn uncomfortable. However, all that aside, Java has some of the cheapest beer/food+beer deals I've seen. For example, on Thursday, you can order an entree and a beer for less than $10. Amazing!Great for big crowds; my friends and I are constantly trying to find a place that will host our semi-regular DS nights, and Java is a perfect place for this; it's cozy, the staff are super friendly and it's cheap to get drunk and fill your tummies.

Trendsetters from Queen Street West

cheap hearty resto

Rated this place:

Usually voted in Toronto's alternative weeklies as having one of the best patios in the city, Java (known in short) is located in the bohemian strip of Queen St. W. and is known for student cheap eats and discounted premium and imported beers. Its pan-Asian cuisine and many vegetarian options, starting as low as $3 for a good-sized sandwich and entrees from $7, have many regulars visiting daily.
