Gandhi Roti is fantastic stuff. Their portions are huge, so for me it makes 2 meals, and the sauce is so tasty. It's very different from your traditional Caribbean style roti, it's got more of an East Indian flare. I usually get the chicekn roti and I usually go with medium, which has a nice amount of kick, without being painful. :)Also, just as an aside, I'm not surprised that JuicemaN didn't like Gandhi Roti if he thinks Island Foods makes good roti. That's the McDonald's of roti places, typical flavourless, mass-produced bunk that you'd expect from a fast food chain. Ugh.

Whatever that was, it wasn't Chicken Roti

Rated this place:

I read all these reviews that talked about how great the Roti was. I'm a monstrous Island Foods fan and was excited to try another local Roti joint.I ordered Chicken Roit, and whatever I got certainly wasn't your normal Chicken Roti, it could only have been what I considered to be Chicken Cacciatore paste in Roti bread. I ate half of it and gave up, it was awful. I couldn't have been more disappointed.I'm really hoping they got my order wrong and the lady gave me something different, cause that Chicken Roti was awful, there was no curry and it was red...since when is Chicken Roti red?Anyway, clearly I am the problem seeing as everyone else seems to think the place is good. To me, it was a complete waste of $10.

Peas and Cheese, the perfect union

Rated this place:

The peas and cheese roti (can't remember the menu name for it) is absolutely addictive. The cheese is cubed like the curds of a poutine and the peas are so fresh they explode with flavour in your mouth. ummmmmm

Gandhi Roti

They have perfected the Roti. Every variety I've tried is amazing. When I go away on vacation, I get more antsy to return to Gandhi Roti than to my own apartment

Trust them, they mean it when they say hot. The owner has lots of funny stories of people trying to be macho and ignore his warnings when they order 'extra-hot'.

The portions are huge and usually last into lunch the next day.

Best filling: Matter Paneer

Butter chicken

Rated this place:

Nothing obviously will ever beat out my mums, however this as comparable as we are going to get. the spices used are quite authentic. word of the wise, call in advance as the lines can be overwhelming.

Spicy roti

Rated this place:

They're not kidding about how spicy it is. Some places tend to disappoint when it comes to the punch factor, but Gandhi really burns my tongue! Big, delicious portions too.
