$4 Dinner!? RECENTLY RENOVATED

Rated this place:

Nazareth Restaurant

I was crushed when I drove passed recently and noticed it closed with a sign up, thinking it had shut down. But, luckily, she was just expanding and talking over the recently closed Pam's Roti. Open again, with shorter lines thanks to the expanded space, Nazareth is back and better than ever. It's hard to find a better deal in the city than Nazareth ethiopian food. It's often cheaper to eat here than to eat at home. I've checked out lots of Ethiopian restuarants in the city, and even the more expensive ones don't come close to Nazareth.Their vegetarian platter is only $7.99 and serves two! $4 dinner?! The decor is interesting with an eclectic crowd - a mix of students and locals. The owner is friendly but stern, and not afraid to let you know your time is up and that you have to pass your table on to the next group waiting at the bar. But she never forgets a face, and will welcome you back and remember your favorites for next time.

You don't always pay for what you get!

Rated this place:

I have tried many of the Ethiopian restaurants in the city and while I don't have any complaints about the others, I have to say that I was extremely impressed with Nazareth, both in terms of food and hospitality. My dining partner and I, as we shared our $7.99 veggie plate and two spiced teas, couldn't believe how little we were spending on such a great meal. The service was friendly to boot!Be prepared to wait, as the place seems popular, but keep in mind that the wait is a small price to pay...literally!

Ethiopian food

Rated this place:

Nazareth Restaurant

The ambiance is warm and unpretentious, and the food is very flavourful and well-spiced. Also, it may be the best value for money of any restaurant I've been to. It would be altogether reasonable for them to double their prices. I find the owner very likeable.

Ethiopian restaurant

Rated this place:

It's cheap, and I love eating my food with that flat and round bread thing... that sponge-bread... and it's flat, you know, like a flat sponge, but it's bread. You know? Just try it.
