Birthday blunders....

Rated this place:

Unfortunate Experience: We came to the Sultan's Tent to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday and had a very disappointing experience. The server was condescending and pushy - trying to rush us out of the booth to begin service for the next group. The host ruined our birthday surprise and when we asked to discuss the issue with manager they got the bartender to pretend he was the manager and listen to our concerns! Lastly, the four course meal was mediocre at best. Overall, a poor experience. The only positive element to this night was the belly dancer.

Rated this place:

The Sultan's Tent is a great dinner venue for group get-togethers. For the price of $40.00/person, your night includes a Moroccan themed "cabana", a prix fixe 5-course menu and belly dancers.

place to avoid

Rated this place:

I was surprised to see so many people lauding this tourist trap here. The 'prix fixe' menu means that the food is made in large batches at the back-- the lack of freshness is obvious. The meal I had there tasted like it had been under a heat lamp-- and was bland and badly seasoned by comparison to Morrocan food I've had at a mall Kiosk. At $40, that's inexcusable. You better derive a lot of enjoyment from belly dancing if you want to get your money's worth here.

Moroccan food

Rated this place:

Amazing decor. Connected to the Sultan's Tent. I went for Summerlicious 2008: the food was amazing and service was great. I would definitely recommend the Maftoul for an appetizer.

The atmosphere is just amazing, its so different from what we are all used to. The belly dancers are amazing, definitely something you want to experience in Toronto. The prices are affordable and worth it!

Romantic restaurant

Rated this place:

Well, what can I say. The decor is fantastic. The atmosphere is incredible and the food is perfect. It's a unique place that's miles away from your average candle-lit long stemmed glass restuarant. It's a new colourful experience.

Rated this place:

The food is great, but I must say the atmosphere is better. WHo ever thought one could have so much fun while eating dinner!
