Jazz lounge

Rated this place:

Make sure to come early if you want a table as there is not a lot of standing room. Cover is usually low and the music is always great!

DealSeekers from Yonge and St. Clair

The city's most accessible jazz bar

Rated this place:

Once apon a time, Toronto had a number of high-profile established jazz clubs: George's, Top of the Senator, Montreal Bistro, etc. All have since closed. At the time, the Rex was a divey joint; it has since been renovated. It hasn't filled their shoes, not exactly -- it certainly doesn't have the cachet (or prices) that the Senator did -- but it fills an equally important role, encouraging young and emerging musicians and music lovers, as well as die-hards. Plus, there's music at almost any time of day. (Great food rounds out the package.)

Live Jazz

Rated this place:

The Rex is a great place to unwind with friends, coworkers and family alike. They host solid live Jazz and Blues shows (many of which are pay-what-you-can and feature both established and emergent talent), the grub’s decent enough to warrant a second go, a good number of draught beers are available, the prices ain’t too bad (considering it’s primo downtown location), it’s got a sweet retro-timewarp thing goin’ on - and it’s one of the least pretentious clubs in the city.

Jazz bar

Rated this place:

Ince the late '80s, the Rex has been at the forefront of Toronto's thriving local jazz scene. the casual atmosphere, eclectic mix of retro-chic decor, and dilemma inflicting variety of draught beer make The Rex Hotel feel like a second home. The Jazz & Blues Bar continually attracts Canada's finest musicians and is unique in that it remains distinctly inexpensive and affordable for the budget-conscious...

Jazz, Jazz club, Jazz lounge, Live jazz place

Rated this place:

Best jazz in Toronto, bottom line. Laid back, eclectic and a comfortable place to have a drink and some good food. I'm a vegetarian and I can always find a good meal at the Rex.

Live jazz place

Rated this place:

The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar

A main staple of Toronto! The staff have been there "forever" and are the best. The music, Ambience, food and beer are the best.

Jazz lounge

Rated this place:

Two words: Kevin Quain. If you ever catch a performance either here or Graffitti's in Kensington Market, you're in for a treat. Nice service, great location, cheap entertainment - it's great.

Not the most good looking of all places but some greats play there both upcoming and well known. A must for jazz lovers.
