When in the Distillery District, I always get a coffee and a snack at Balzac's. It's got great atmosphere and interior design (spacious, rustic, high ceilings, old wood and exposed brick, big windows, antique fixtures and two levels with balcony seating), it's always a-buzz with activity (to varying degrees, depending on when you go), the coffee's damn good, treats are good, they show art and the service is always exceptional. It's great for reading the paper, conversation and watching people.
