Video store

Rated this place:

I bought movies at there for 5000$, the master pieces of Cinema. Such a unique palce, I took notes with me to write down what I will work for and what to buy... Unfortunately a guy broke into my apartment and stole the hole 200 item collection. My heart was broken. I will never able to buy them again....

Deal Seekers from North York

AVOID THIS STORE LIKE THE PLAGUE !

Rated this place:

How does this store stay in business with the rudest, surliest staff in the city, especially the burly guy with the bald head? On the two occassions I have been in this store I have encountered staff who would rather be anywhere else than helping you find a dvd or answer a question or even take an order. The filing system for their dvd's are less than user friendly. This is a businesss in serious need of customer service staff training and until there is an improvement I suggest that you take your business elsewhere and at least receive respectful service!

A Gem!

Rated this place:

Whoever owns this place deserves a medal! They have absolutely anything of quality there as well as a staff of encyclopedic film buffs to help you out!

DealSeekers from Yonge and St. Clair

Toronto's largest DVD collection...

Rated this place:

...can be intimidating, I suppose. You can lose hours in here just figuring out what you want to rent. But seriously, if it's released, they have it. The staff are all awesome, religious movie buffs who will engage you in Tarantinonian dialogue over the best genre films ever, best films by a director with a Z in their name, etc. Plus, their little writeups are full of F-U-N.

Bay Street Video

Back in 1998, I lived at Bay & Bloor and despaired of walking all the way to Markham to rent a DVD. Eureka! I found Bay Street Video, tucked behind Tim Hortons, just south of Bloor. Little yellow post-its with earnest staff recommendations; the whole Criterion Collection; endless BBC productions on DVD... it was true love. They've grown in size but remain indie at heart, and claim to have Toronto's largest DVD collection. I salute them for giving me 10 years of awesome service.
