It's a pretty tight space. you don't have a lot of room to move around, but it's worth it. if there's a line...stick it out, they get you in pretty quickly. excellent shrimp panang! ...and the phad thai has always been a staple for me there...one of the best in the city. it's not as yummy as it was ten years ago, but it's still excellent!!! it's a tamarind/palm sugar blend...no tomato, so it's a nice change from the norm.

With nothing on the menu over $8.95, this authentic Thai eatery should be at the top of your list when considering cheap, down town deliciousness. Booming since a stylish make over, wait time during peak hours might prove long, but the social lunch table style seating, prompt service and quality eats are worth it.

I think the setup at Salad King is really cool. Kind of like a flashback to a high school cafeteria except hopefully less painful and a lot tastier. I like that you get to choose how hot your food comes. It's fun to experiment...or not. When in doubt, mild it out.

Salad King offers fast, affordable, and incredible Thai cuisine. It's often bustling with Dundas-Square-ers and local students...I recommend skipping the crowd and grabbing some takeout, but either way the food is just amazing.
