We used to go here..

Rated this place:

My husband and I used to go here until they were shutdown by Toronto Public Health back in March 2009. http://www.blogto.com/eat_drink/2009/03/sushi_on_bloor_shut_down/ We would rather pay more money for sushi then eat in filth!

run-of-the-mill sushi

Rated this place:

i don't get the whole big portions thing as a plus. sushi isn't meant to eat like a steak and potatoes dinner. If you want decent, relatively authentic sushi at reasonable prices, try toshi on king, or oishi kada in kensington.

best prices

Rated this place:

Ok, the lineups sometimes suck. But the food is consistantly very good, with big portions. Get there by 6pm to avoid lines. Definatly my top pick.

Good to Gorge

Rated this place:

Every so often gluttonous urges take over and I need to eat until dangerously close to combustion. Sushi on Bloor is the BEST place to gorge (save for my bed - with a big bag of smartfood). The prices allow for ample ordering with barely a dent in your wallet and the food is really yummy. By far the best Nasu Dengeku I've ever had! And the Ikayaki is huge and delightful. The rolls come with 8 pieces (none of this 6 little pieces business). The salads are gigantic and the dressing is orange and tangy. Friends of mine love the salad rolls, though they're not my fave. I've had one or two less than stellar meals here in dozens of visits - not too shabby!

Sushi in the Annex = Sushi on Bloor

Rated this place:

Sushi On Bloor

Great sushi, good prices. There seems to be a new sushi place in the Annex opening up nearly every single day, but Sushi on Bloor remains pretty great even with all the competition. The fish is buttery, smooth, flavourful and always fresh. I love the sashimi and the spicy tuna maki, but I recently discovered that Sushi on Bloor has invented a new and even more amazing way to enjoy spicy tuna - there's an appetizer on special there sometimes called a flying saucer. Essentially, it's a dollop of spicy tuna on top of a piece of deep fried eggplant. Heavenly.

Sushi on bloor

Rated this place:

I love this place. They have an amazing selection of bento boxes, etc. You might have to wait nearly an hour to be seated but the cheap and delicious food is definitely worth the wait. Yum!
