They have the best, fresh, tomatillo salsa. Ignore the red bowl they give you and stick with the green. It's spicy and one of the best in the city.Ask them for a take-out jar ($4), or two! It's just as good at home and adds a kick to anything.

It is this adorable, authentic restaurant in the heart of Kensington that serves up some of the freshest salsa and tacos I have had in this city. Absolutely loved it.

Tacos al pastor

Even though I've never been to Mexico City, I get to taste a little bit of it in Kensington Market. A favourite recommended by Mexicans in Toronto, El Trompo serves up authentic tacos, including the popular al pastor variety. Small soft corn tortillas are filled with delicious pork that has been carefully marinated and roasted before being topped with fresh pineapple, coriander and onion. Each plate comes with four tacos & is served with a smile by a Lopez family member. Yummy.
