You typically find stacks of plastic tubs and other large household items outside Tap Phong, which makes it one of those places you might initially pass by, not realizing the treasure trove inside. But if you do make your way through the front doors, you’ll be glad you did! Tap Phong is one of those stores where you can go in for one thing and leave with ten more. It’s a great spot to get reasonably priced plain white plates and platters and it also stocks everything from bamboo steamers to industrial sized pots. Plus, it offers a good selection of reasonably priced Asian ceramic dishes. A fun way to spend an afternoon browsing and buying.

Cheap kitchenware!

The store doesn't seem like much on the outside but inside it's a treasure trove of kitchenware! I like to buy bamboo steamers here for our Mommy Chef classes. They also sell woks, bowls, knives, sushi sets, dishes, bake ware, industrial pots, and Asian ceramics. I keep coming back here because the prices are very affordable. I could go into a brand name store and spend two-three times as much.

Chinatown deals galore

Everyone who’s ever been to Chinatown knows this awesome place, but I can’t get enough of their amazing kitchenware deals. Last time I was there I got a spatula and some bamboo steamers (which I used to package some gifts – cute and environmentally responsible). But pretty much, I can’t pass by and not pop in to contemplate buying some cheap bakeware. Because it’s not just cheap, it’s also amazingly reliable. It's so nice and convenient to have a shop like this downtown where sturdy household basics can be found.

It's cheap! Last time I went there, I bought baking ramekins (that dish that you can use to serve creme brulee), cake decorating turntables, and crepe pans!

Really cheap kitchen gadgets. Plus they have beautiful dishes that are cheap (I got one for $5 that I'd seen somewhere else for $35!)
