My boyfriend and I come here all the time, at least once or twice a week. We've been to many an AYCE sushi joints around Toronto and this place definitely has the freshest fish and best variety.Their selection is not as vast as other places, but every dish is bang-on fanstastic. It's not like other places where they boast over have 200+ items, when over half of them seem to have been prepared for barn animal feed... So if one were to compare really good dishes, Ten-Ichi definitely has more than any other AYCE in this city.Plus this place has awesome desserts, and the host Alex always gives us the best service and a sushi boat. If you're looking for service with a smile and good food, this is the place to be.But RSVP well in advance folks, this place is busy with a capital B ;)

I just went to Ten-Ichi for an all-you-can-eat dinner and it was my second time going there. The first time around I went with my family (party of 6) and when they brought us our cups, it reeked of a "dirty towel" smell...Whatever they used to dry our cups after washing them was definitely not clean. However, our waiter was really nice about it and promptly changed the cups for us.Today, 3 years later, I went with my boyfriend and was seated within 20 minutes. The waiter I had three years ago, was now the host at the door. Our first order consisted of 3 orders of salmon sashimi, 1 order of white tuna, 1 order of arctic clam, 1 order of shrimp, and 1 order of red snapper. We were told that each order consisted of 3 pieces, and when the plate arrived, we received 3 pieces of salmon, 2 pieces of arctic clam, 2 pieces of red snapper, 2 pieces of white tuna, and 5 pieces of shrimp. We didn't complain, but proceeded to order another 15 pieces of salmon, and 5 pieces of white tuna, 20 in total, along with other dishes.Twenty minutes later...when THIS order came, we got 10 pieces of salmon, and 5 pieces of white tuna, which was less than what we ordered again! So we began to test this theory that they were always going to give us less sashimi than what we ordered because really, sashimi is quite possibly the most expensive dish on the menu.Our next order for sashimi was 20 pieces of salmon. It took 40 minutes to come, and yup - they gave us less again. The waitress gave us 10 pieces, to which I finally spoke up and said, "we ordered 20". FIVE minutes later, she comes back with the additional 10 pieces we ordered.Last but not least, when the bill came, they added a 10% gratuity on TOP of GST and PST. When my boyfriend went to speak to the host, he claimed that they had a "new" system that "accidentally" did that. We got our bill fixed and didn't end up tipping them because we just thought that it was really dishonest of the restaurant to do that.

I will NEVER return to Ten-Ichi... EVER.

I haven't eaten the sushi here, but I would have liked to. My boyfriend and I decided to stray from our usual sushi joint to try Ten-Ichi and even drove through a snowstorm to get there. We waited 10 minutes at the door (with no one around mind you) until the snotty male hostess showed up. When he did he asked us how many were in our party, we replied with "two". He then looked at us and said these exact words... "Not tonight" Uhhh... ok? I have never, ever been so outright and blatantly rejected at the entrance of a restaurant in my life. He could have been more polite about it, he could have given us a wait time, he could have given us a reason, but he didn't. We just flat out couldn't eat there. Instead he tried to give us their business card and urged us to come back another time. I rejected his card, proceeded to laugh at him and walked out the door. I will never, ever, return back to this restaurant, EVER.

The food is amazing, high quality , light , tasty , great variety, fantastic service with a smile every time. Best Japanese food in the world, and I've been to Japan, Hong Kong etc. Reservation recommended, come early to be able to take your time. I can't give a best dish because it was all so delicious, but the sashimi is probably one of the best parts of the menu. My dinner companion loved the grilled honey oysters.

They have the best sushi. Also they offer a great all you can eat Teppanyaki. Very fresh.
