I'm new to the club sandwich club and I've been making up for lost time recently. When I heard through the digital grapevine that the Tulip Steakhouse makes a mean club sandwich, I promptly headed east of the city. From all outward appearances, the Tulip had the potential to be that little-known gem (its signage is bright yellow and employs pink bubble letters) that only locals and those in-the-know knew about. I don't know if it will become my ultimate go-to destination for club sandwiches, but I'll definitely be back for the friendly service, pleasant atmosphere and a taste of their chicken parmesan (it was very popular the day I went). Their club sandwich delivered exactly what I wanted - the bread was toasty, the chicken was freshly prepared and the bacon was salty perfection.

I just got back from working in Europe for the last few years, and decided to go back to the restaurant that I used to go to with my father when i was a lot younger.I grew up right around the corner from The Tulip. I remember when the staff would come over and chat with my family, we were pretty regular, since my father would take us there for lunch/dinner whenever he got a chance.So it was a weekday night, and as usual the place was busy, just like I remember.I got a seat at the bar and just had to order the Club House sandwich, my favorite. The manager came over, and started to ask about my father. Wow talk about family! She actually remembered me!The Tulip has always had that family vibe, from when you sit down to when you finish with your delicious pie.The sandwich was as great as when I was a kid.Since this visit, I took some friends over for a dinner, and we all ordered the steaks, again, what can I say other than they were great.Hopefully one day I'll be able to take my kids.

Don't know what has been up with Tulip lately. Been going there for years and something is amiss. The home-fries are suffering, get it back together guys..please

For an inexpensive and tasty breakfast/lunch Tulip can't be beat. I had buttermilk pancakes(3), home fries, sausages, scrambled eggs, toast and coffee all for under $15 including taxes/tip. One thing I noticed during my brunch was that many customers were ordering steak and given that the full name of the restaurant is The Tulip - The Original Steakhouse; you know this means a return trip for steak. I'll let you know how it goes.

The Tulip is around the corner from where I work (St. John's Cemetery) and I've taken lots of people (live) there for a nice lunch. When the owners wife died he brought her to our cemetery to be taken care of. Now that's faithful to your neightbourhood business!!!

Looks like an old diner, so it's really surprising the quality of the steaks that come out of the kitchen. I always have mine with the delicious home fries, and am usualy too full for dessert
