Lots of Australian and Californian wines from which to choose. Super cheap prices. I ordered a combination plate with lamb, Hummus, Babagough, Tabuleh, Israeli salad & amazing tasting falafels for $13! Just make sure if you go with your uncultured, meat-and-potato loving father that you don't let him order and mispronounce all the menu items. Gah! The restaurant is not much to look at nor is the patio but the prices and tastes make up for it!

Located in the Annex, By The Way Cafe has been a favourite of mine since I moved to Toronto. The homemade scones, large lattes and delicious eggs benedict with dill sauce are reasons I come here often. Plus, the large covered patio on the corner of Bloor and Brunswick Ave. is the perfect spot on a sunny day and great for people watching. The wait is the only thing I don't like, on weekends. Expect to wait about 20 to 30 minutes for a table during peak hours.

Brunch time equals family time at this casual Annex local. The crowd's a mix of families, urbanites, seniors and couples -- a place where kids can make noise and others won't scowl at the early-morning intrusion. So far I've only had brunch at this little place but both times the food has been excellent. Every time I have gone in or walked by they are always packed, and I would certainly recommend By The Way to anyone looking for a delicious meal. Brunch prices are from between $6-$12 per person, and I know they have a daily pre fixe dinner for $25. Try the Middle Eastern Eggs, delicious :)

All the food is good, but I love the omelettes. They also have an enclosed patio, which is good in the colder months.
