"...The fact that The Caddy is named after a symbol of American excess is no accident — the patio holds close to 180 people, making it Queen Street’s largest, and the greasy fare on the menu doesn’t exactly come in European portions. Owner Sam Grosso is a Bruce Springsteen fan, and along with a hefty collection of Boss-iana on the walls inside, the music largely sticks to the tried and true: classic rock, country and plenty of Elvis.

You and a buddy can make your way through a bucket of Amsterdam blonde for around 10 bucks apiece while staring up at the giant pink Cadillac painting on the far wall, your booze-soaked brain desperately trying to resolve its uneven perspective (once an art snob, always an art snob), and steal a few hours of hipster-free bliss..."

The Cadillac is a very special place for me, as it is where I decided to change my life. On my 26th birthday I got real wasters, commanded the attention of not only my direct group of friends but the ENTIRE back patio. I stumbled on to a chair and yelled this at everyone: ”I’m 26 and I’m BOREEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDD”. Yep…that was a birthday to remember.Anyhow – for those who don’t know – this is a Rockabilly kitch dream. The patio is humongous – good for summer, smokers and large facebook RSVP’s.If you feel like getting real rowdy….this is the perfect place to do so.I love the caddy.

Walk in the door of the Cadillac, and you're likely to see someone unironically quaffed in an Elvis Ducktail and plain white T. The massive patio out back becomes a playground for the inebriated late at night; but the real action is inside, where the bands play to an engaged audience. The menu's reasonable -- mains average about $10 -- and they sell jive swag.

An intimate roots experience. This old stand-by in the Parkdale/Roncesvalles ‘hood boasts patio seating for 200. There’s no shortage of umbrella-toting tables on the patio. In addition to inexpensive grub, the joint also serves up a ton of brunch options for those lazy, summer days...

The patio is HUGE and they even have TVs that show the acts performing indoors so you don’t have to play favourites.

Parkdale has plenty of patios but the Caddy remains one of my faves. It's big, airy and full of friendly people. While not immune from intense westward gentrification, the Caddy is definitely not just a snooty hipster hangout. Decent daily specials (try the fish and chips!) are on offer along with an extensive menu of classic bar food standbys.

I used to have dreams as a kid where I'd discover rooms in my house I'd never seen -- they'd keep unfolding. I had spent a few nights drinking (in the winter) at the CL and one day discovered the back patio when spring sprung. It gave me deja vu to those dreams as a kid. The patio at CL is huge and perfect for summer drinking.
