It has beautiful grounds, breathtaking architecture, fascinating history and the kids love the secret passageway and long tunnels under ground. A family fave for sure.

Secret closet

When I was in 6th grade, we went on a class trip to Casa Loma. In the main bedroom, there is a secret closet, where the ne'er do well tax evader who built Casa Loma used to hide. I pressed on the wall, and there it was. And that was a good Toronto moment.

The secret rooms and the maid's staircase were highpoints of my childhood. It's still nice to wander around the gardens and admire the gorgeous architecture of the castle. Touristy for sure, but still a favourite of mine.
